Ms. Economou has represented domestic and overseas insurers for almost two decades with a focus on complex coverage litigation, primarily involving environmental, asbestos and silica claims and litigation (and related bankruptcy matters), and in health hazard, toxic tort and products liability and construction defect coverage matters. In addition, Ms. Economou has a track record of successfully representing insurers involved in litigation to collect substantial retrospective premiums. She has also represented insurers involved in various personal lines coverage disputes, including homeowners’ automobile liability issues. She has expertise in coverage questions including advertising and personal injury, as well.
Ms. Economou is guided by the philosophy that a well-informed client is the best partner and therefore spends considerable time presenting training workshops to client organizations and conferring with individual client management. Among the subjects covered by Ms. Economou are issues such as insurance fraud, the legal and practical requirements of reservation of rights and disclaimer letters, lost policy, trigger and allocation, and workers’ compensation/employers’ liability and construction defect coverage issues.
Ms. Economou has also served as an Adjunct Professor of Business Law at The Illinois Institute of Technology, and was recognized as a “Super Lawyer” by Illinois Super Lawyers® magazine in 2008 and 2009.
