Adam R. Bunge
Associate
Mr. Bunge has been with KCESD since 2001, focusing his practice in professional liability and employment liability programs, complex coverage litigation, and silica/asbestos/mixed dust litigation. He also has experience in construction litigation and environmental claims. Mr. Bunge has been successful in negotiating favorable settlements, winning declaratory judgment actions and appellate court cases, including Those Certain Underwriters at Lloyd’s v. Professional Underwriters Agency, Inc., 364 Ill.App.3d 975 (2nd Dist. Ill. 2006) (declaring that insurer does not have interim duty to defend while declaratory judgment action regarding coverage is pending).
While in law school, Mr. Bunge served as a research assistant for Professor John Walton, researching current legal issues such as racial profiling in the wake of September 11, 2001, copyright infringement in the digital age, attorneys’ conflicting self-reporting requirements under the Sarbanes-Oxley Act and the Illinois Code of Professional Conduct, and First Amendment implications of Native American team names in sports. Mr. Bunge is credited in Prof. Walton’s article “Toward More Reliable Jury Verdicts? Law, Technology, and Media Developments Since the Trials of Dr. Sam Sheppard,” 49 Clev. St. L. Rev. 407 (2001), which discussed the impact of media on criminal due process.
Mr. Bunge is a member of the national defense organization DRI.

Bachelor of Arts degree, summa cum laude, from the University of North Dakota, Grand Forks, North Dakota, while participating as a scholarship athlete (1999)
J.D. degree, cum laude, from Northern Illinois University College of Law, DeKalb, Illinois (2003), where he was a member of the National Moot Court Team
